The primary purpose of the United Methodist Women is to be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church
Keeping this purpose in mind, please remember what Jesus said, not to just a few, but to everyone, "All Christians are called to serve and make disciples." During the 2001 year, there will be several new opportunities to get involved. We, as a community of women, who possess diverse socio-economic backgrounds, employed, housewives, business women, single, married, divorced, young, middle aged, and older women have an opportunity to know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ.
What will you get out of becoming a member of the South Point UMW? The opportunity to study God's word, the opportunity to make new friends, and the opportunity to serve through missions. If you desire to become a member of the South Point UMW, all you need to do is express a desire to belong and participate in the global mission of the church through UMW.
Membership can be expressed in one or more of the following ways:
| Attendance at UMW general meetings. | |
| Support local and global mission through study, participation and giving, intercessory prayer. | |
| Participating in programs, events, and projects focusing on the needs and concerns of others. |
