Acolytes are youth who light and extinguish the candles during the worship services. They also assist the Pastor with other duties.
The Acolyte Ministry stems from Old Testament times. The Holy Scriptures tell of the Prophet Elijah being assisted by Elisha. Being an Acolyte is a special and fulfilling challenge. It takes special individuals to serve in front of a sanctuary filled with family, friends and neighbors, and each week, these young men and women show their devotion to our church by serving at the altar. Candidates must be willing, sincere, prompt, regular in attendance, alert to instruction, and cooperative.
